Rev. Laird Borst is a graduate of Concordia University College of Alberta (BA) and the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Saskatoon (M.Div.), and is ready to help members and non–members in areas of personal, spiritual, and marital growth. The various pastoral acts of the church (e.g. baptisms, weddings, and funerals) are available upon request.
Thanks to many willing volunteers, Sunday School will resume on September 7. Class will be from 10:00-10:45 AM. The "teacher of the day" will also be available to care for children during the sermon.
Confirmation studies are designed to help youth and adults understand and affirm their baptism and Christian faith. Contact Pastor Laird to enrol.
The Book Study will be offered again starting Monday night, September 8. If you have a book you would love to read and study, please talk to Pastor Laird.
Young Professionals Potluck and Bible Study
Adults in their 20s, 30s, 40s are invited on the 3rd Saturday of each month (beginning in September) for Potluck Supper at 4:30pm and then Bible study from 5:30 – 6:30pm. (Childcare is provided .) Participants do not need to be members of Hope or even currently involved in a church community. We will be using the Serendipity Bible for our studies and this year we will focus on whol-i-ness, spending time discussing passages from the Bible that center around our spiritual, physical, vocational, emotional, relational, and volitional lives. Each study will address a separate topic so if your schedule doesn’t allow you to attend every week, no problem!
Women meet at 1:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of every month for bible study and on the last Tuesday of the month, from 9-3 for quilting and fellowship. All women are welcome.
Men's Breakfast and Bible Study
The men are invited for a time of fellowship and bible study at 8:00 am on the second Saturday of the month. They meet at the A&W on 50 Street and 101 Avenue.
